Verida was too early, merged with Kwaai

What did Verida merge with? https://www.kwaai.ai/

That’s the thing I keep wanting to lookup but find hard.

Context: Verida was a Crypto project so you could own your own data.

Unfortunately it failed in late 2025

The idea was that you’d connect your various 3rd party services, Facebook, Health app, Spotify. All your data could be run on the Verida decentralised, secure data platform. You get a special crypto ID and you can either pay tokens to store your data, or more likely have 3rd party apps pay you to get access to your data.

They had raised a few million dollars and created something that works. I knew a number of the main people running it and they all had good intentions. They created something that worked, it provided value. But the market wasn’t ready.
They pivoted to being a data source for your own AI data when LLMs sucked the air out of the Crypto world. But it seems they ran out of runway.

This post is because I keep trying to lookup the AI community which Verida was merging with at the very end. It’s called Kwaai.

As per the Verida Community Telegram channel, on Xmas day 2025 was the last post. It pointed out how to join the Kwaai slack channel.

I wanted to know how Kwaai is going

Specifically, I wanted to know if they have a good proof of token process, proving that the LLM’s prompt and output haven’t been tampered with as I want to do a similar distribution system, but allowing the general public to help use their spare AI inference to power a shared public project (ATLAS).

It doesn’t seem they do, but they have some systems worth investigating.
